Our Core Mission
The web hosting sector is notorious for aggressive marketing slogans and misleading terminology. Terms like "Unlimited Bandwidth," "High Performance Compute," and "100% SSD" often conceal severely throttled IOPS, aggressive CPU steal ratios, and saturated network interfaces.
GlobalVPS was established by Linux systems administrators to create a transparent, empirical benchmark standard for virtualized infrastructure. We run standardized telemetry suites across live instances to provide developers, CTOs, and agencies with factual hardware data.
Independent Testing Methodology
We never accept free test accounts, pre-configured instances, or hardware hand-picked by hosting companies. Our team follows a four-pillar testing protocol:
1. Anonymous Purchasing Protocol
We buy every server using regular commercial payment accounts without identifying ourselves as benchmark researchers. This ensures our instances are placed on random production hypervisors alongside real customer workloads.
2. Standardized FIO & Sysbench Telemetry
Every instance runs an identical Debian Linux image executing automated telemetry:
- FIO (Flexible I/O Tester): 4KB block size, direct I/O, queue depth 32, measuring sequential and random read/write IOPS.
- Sysbench 1.0 CPU: Prime calculation up to 20,000 to measure single-thread and multi-core computational event velocity.
- Geekbench 6: Industry standard compute benchmarking for CPU integer and floating point capabilities.
3. Continuous 30-Day Network & MTR Telemetry
One-hour benchmark bursts can be deceiving. We maintain continuous 30-day ping and traceroute logging from 8 independent nodes (Frankfurt, London, New York, Dallas, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney) to accurately measure transit packet loss and routing jitter.
4. Secret Shopper Support Auditing
We submit technical support inquiries regarding kernel updates or reverse DNS (PTR) configuration during off-peak weekend hours to gauge authentic response speed and sysadmin competence.
Affiliate Transparency & Financial Disclosures
To fund the continuous costs of renting dozens of international servers and running enterprise monitoring infrastructure, GlobalVPS participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click an external link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a commission.
